Hello! I am Lea Schmihing, a designer and art director based in Hamburg, Germany.
In 2023 I founded GREAT AT STUDIO, working at the intersection of branding and content creation.

My practice is focused on the broad field of the visual, mainly working on creative concepts, holistic designs and artistic direction. As we are living in a beautiful, messy and colorful world, instead of decluttering it, I'm embracing complexity and diversity through my work. I believe a good designer has and keeps a flexible mind throughout his*her career. Consequently I'm always curious to learn and experience new things.

In the cultural field I served Behörde für Kultur und Medien Hamburg, Berliner Kunstverein, and Marta Herford or private companies such as Universal Music Germany.

Before founding my own business I worked at Hansen/2 Studio and Make Studio. Clients there included Spiegel Online, Melitta, Stayery (Make Studio) Filmfest Hamburg, Byonoy, Hamburg Kreativgesellschaft, Deichtorhallen Hamburg and Filmfund Hamburg (Hansen/2), to name a few.

My work has been shown at »Mannheimer Kunstverein«, »Marta Herford«, »Vitrine Bielefeld« and »Triennale der Fotografie Hamburg«. I was honoured by »ADC Germany« and won »Erstwerk Buchpreis«. For the inclusive organization of »Ultrafett-Festival« I got honored by the »Alphabettes«. I am alumnae of »Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes« associated with my MA at »Fachhochschule Bielefeld«.
